Sneak Peak for Reiss AW 2014 collection
I had the pleasure to attend the launch of Reiss AW14 season at Atelier, Pier 7 yesterday. The collection takes inspiration from extreme contrasting elements - presented in four main stories which run through the season. AW14 places great importance on the elegance and art of dressing up. ‘Glamour with a touch of malice’ sees the collection becoming increasingly intense, dramatic contrasts influenced from the 1940s displaced with early ‘90s pieces and attitude. ‘Film Noir’ was a strong element alongside French cinema which crossed with Brutalist architecture throughout the collection.
Muses reflect an acute sense of style and good taste. Arbiters of elegance, emphasising an attitude, they are individuals that dare to stand out. Charlotte Gainsbourg sets the tone for the DNA, with timeless and effortless chic. A radiant symbol of this spirit of cool! Françoise Dorléac provokes a Modern Femininity which encapsulates the contrasts at play; authoritarian yet submissive, there’s a romantic sensitivity and insolent stubbornness.
